The aims of the programme are to provide a recognised professional qualification for those already working within the trusts and estates field, or those wishing to move to a position within the field. The qualifications can be a first professional qualification or in addition to an existing professional qualification. The STEP England and Wales education programme provides a progression from introductory technician level to professional level Diploma.

Programme Features

Foundation Certificate

The Foundation Certificate is for those who may have less experience or technical knowledge and serves as an introduction to each of the Diploma papers.

Diploma - consists of the following advanced papers;

• Administration of Estates
• Administration of Trusts
• Taxation of Trusts and Estates
• Trust and Estate Accounting

• An academic and professional qualification recognised by the industry.
• Full STEP membership for Diploma holders and use of the designation TEP upon completion of the Diploma.
• An integrated tuition system, including distance learning, a web-site facility and face-to-face tuition.
• An appreciation of the issues that arise in trust and estate practice and practical knowledge of the law and procedure involved.
• Provides 16 hours Law Society CPD in any one year.

• The Foundation Certificate and Diploma are now awarded in association with the University of Manchester Business School (MBS). The courses are subject to the rigorous quality assurance procedures of MBS, a school of the University of Manchester.
